Here are the top 5 ways to download Torrents anonymously

Here are the top 5 ways to download Torrents anonymously

With these 5 ways you can download Torrents without anyone ever knowing

Recently, there is an increase in privacy services seeked by customers due to the spike in the number of BitTorrent users looking for ways to keep their identities secret from the outside world. Discussed below in the post are services that are completely free to the ones that cost several dollars a month. While the paid services can get you the same speeds as the regular connection would, on the other hand, free services are normally slower or have other limitations.
Listed below are some of the most-used services that allow BitTorrent users to hide their IP-addresses from the public.

VPN (VIRTUAL PRIVATE NETWORK)

VPN is viewed as a good way to ensure privacy while using BitTorrent as found out by many BitTorrent users. You can route all your traffic through VPN servers, hide your IP address from the public by paying just a few dollars a month. While there are some VPNs that also offer a free plan, but these are considerably slower and not suitable for more demanding BitTorrent users.
VPNs unlike the other services are not just limited to BitTorrent traffic, they will also hide the source of all the other traffic on your connection too. VPNs that are popular among BitTorrent users are BTGuard, Torguard and PrivateInternetAccess, but you should be able to find a lot more on Google search. It is suggested to ask in advance if BitTorrent traffic is allowed on the service of your choice.

BTGUARD

BTGuard is a proxy service that hides the IP-addresses of its users from the public. As the name already suggests, the service works on Windows, Mac, Linux, which is configured explicitly with BitTorrent users in mind. Users can also set up their own client to work with BTGuard besides using the pre-configured client. It works with all clients that support “Socks V5″ proxies including uTorrent and Vuze. Additionally, for the real security purists, BTGuard also includes encryption tunnel software.

TORRENTPRIVACY

A similar service to that of BTGuard, Torrentprivacy is another proxy service for BitTorrent users. With all the necessary settings pre-configured, it offers a modified uTorrent client. However, the service is limited to users on Windows platforms, which is the flipside of this approach. In business for more than two years, TorrentPrivacy is operated by the TorrentReactor.net team.

SEEDBOX

Used for torrent transfers exclusively, a seedbox is BitTorrent jargon for a devoted high-speed server. Users normally get very high download speeds with seedbox while their IP-addresses are not shared with the public. The users can download the files to their PC through a fast http connection once the download has completed.

ANOMOS

The Anomos team describes its project as “Anomos is a pseudonymous, encrypted multi-peer-to-peer file distribution protocol. It is based on the peer/tracker concept of BitTorrent in combination with an onion routing anonymization layer, with the added benefit of end-to-end encryption.”
Anomos is one of the few free multi-platform solutions for BitTorrent users to hide their IP-addresses. However, as Anomos uses its own atorrent format, it is not fully compatible with regular torrent files, which is the downside of this service. Another disadvantage is that the download speeds are normally lower than regular BitTorrent transfers.
More than 1,600 people have asked on the uTorrent Idea Bank for the Anomos protocol to be built in to a future uTorrent build, making it the second most-common suggestion in general.

World’s first website has turned 25, here’s how it looks like

World's first website has turned 25, here is how it looks like

On Dec 20, the world’s first ever website has became 25 years old

On 20 December 1990, Tim Berners-Lee, a scientist at the CERN research facility in Switzerland, turned on the world’s first website.
Hosted by the World Wide Web (where “www” comes from) on Berners-Lee’s NeXT computer, the site was used internally by CERN scientists until the whole server was opened up to anyone with an Internet connection in August 1991.
The website itself is like a ‘self-help’ guide to the web – it tells you how to access other people’s documents and how to set up your own server. In 2013, CERN made an effort to return it to its original address, and you can visit it here now, in stripped-down form.
As Berners-Lee explained in his initial proposal for the World Wide Web project, clarity of words was more important than fancy graphics: “Where facilities already exist, we aim to allow graphics interchange, but in this project, we concentrate on the universal readership for text, rather than on graphics.”

There are now more than 4 billion webpages and just under a billion domains, but none are quite so special as the pages that started it all. Max Slater-Robins over at Business Insider has rounded up some of the key players, and let’s just say web design has come a long way since 1990.
Produced by Martijn Koster at CERN in 1993, Aliweb was the world’s first search engine. While it allowed early web users to index their sites via keywords and written descriptions, it never really took off, and had a relatively short lifespan. You can still access it here.

Of course, no huge project is achieved without some lingering regrets, and for Berners-Lee, it’s those damned forward slashes. “Sir Tim has admitted that he shouldn’t have bothered putting two slashes after the HTTP: in URLs,” says Iain Thomson at The Register.
But at least he hasn’t embarrassed himself by posting any dumb cat videos over the past 25 years of being online. “To this date, he’s never posted a cat picture online, although he did once send someone a picture of his dog,” says Thomson.
Not only the story of its birth is the reason we are excited about WWW, the change it has brought in the world is more than remarkable . It is hard to imagine this much technical progress and development of “gadgets of future” without the involvement of world wide web. While new threats have also emerged out of this new aspect of computing, the connectivity offered is worth risk taking.

Microsoft Trolled: Even Windows Phone Chief Uses An iPhone?

windows-phone-81-cortana

Short Bytes: Sometimes people do things out of passion but they are crazy about something else. The same case has come alive with Joe Belfiore, the Corporate Vice President at Operating Systems Group at Microsoft. His only trouble was that he posted a pic from his vacation using an iPhone.
Joe began his world tour in October 2015 last year. Well, everybody likes to share about the places through pictures and videos and so does Joe. But Joe did not realize that he was using an iPhone. There is nothing wrong in using iPhone when you are at one of the top most positions in a company working on Windows Phone.

Joe Belfiore was recently in Kyoto, Japan. From there, he twitted a picture from his trip. And that single photo brought a trolling session on Twitter when everyone knew that Joe was using an Apple’s iPhone.
Tweet from Joe
And the trolling begins…
A number of people began pointing out that he was using an iPhone and mocking him that he could not make a better Windows phone. Silent Joe could not say anything about that. He has avoided replying to those tweets but he is replying to unrelated tweets.
Tweet from Joe
However, Jow wanted to explain it in the comment section on The Vergesomething like this:
To understand the benefits and drawbacks of a full ecosystem like Windows, Android, iOS — you have to LIVE IN IT. You have to feel its strengths and weaknesses, be let down, be delighted. And you can’t do that just “playing around” with a device for a couple of days. You have to learn the UI, upload your photos, use cross-device apps and tools… all of it.
Do you have anything to say about it? Share with us in the comments below.
